Classic Mac OS Sounds

Quack! Eep!
Logjam?!

Play the sound effects from your vintage Macintosh computer!
Or download them all!

My favorite is Sosumi, which I’ve set as my system alert on my modern Mac.
Here’s how you can do the same:

  1. Open a Finder window and navigate to Users > [Your Name].
  2. Press Cmd-Shift-. (period) on your keyboard to show hidden files and folders.
  3. Navigate to Library > Sounds.
  4. Download your favorite sound files (see below) and place them within this folder.
  5. Open your computer’s System Settings and select “Sound” from the left sidebar.
  6. Under “Sound Effects,” you’ll be able to change your Alert Sound using the dropdown menu on the right.
